I originally scoffed at the idea of buying her book.  That didn't last long and I bought a reprint from the National Park bookstore in Gettysburg.  Tillie says she meet General Weed after he was mortally wounded at Little Round Top and he extracted a promise from her to visit him the next day.  Unfortunately, he passed away before she arrived (and she thereupon learned his identity).  Lesson: Civilian accounts will provide information or insights you may not find in a soldier's account.

Excellent observation, Gary. As faulty as memoires can be in the study of history, some of the comments do turn on lights that hadn't been there.
