Naval Operations - Union and Confederate Naval ops, both fresh water and oceanic, played a major role in the war, from bringing in supplies from offshore, to the North's taking and controlling inland waterways, to the South's lifelines of commerce raiders, blockade runners, revenue cutters and privateers on the open seas. Post any info you have on this important topic. |

Have you ever been to Dixie? Those of us who don't live in Dixie, but have travelled there; what were your lasting impressions/experiences you took away with you? Those who live there now, or were born there: what were your earliest memories of life in the South? Please keep in mind that are Southern brothers and sisters are on this board, as well as many in foreign countries. Thank you. |

The "What if" category. Here's the place for you to put the scenario together that would change the course and the outcome of a battle, or, the war itself. "If they had only done (.......), then the whole campaign would have been successful." Speculate, conjecture, and hypothesize to achieve the results that would have worked for your side, or defeated the other side. |
