What particular battle(s) or campaign(s) or other event(s) made you want to begin reading and learning about the Civil War? Was it a trip to a battlefield? A story of a relative in the war passed down to you? A certain monument? A book? What triggered your interest?

Those of us who don't live in Dixie, but have travelled there; what were your lasting impressions/experiences you took away with you? Those who live there now, or were born there: what were your earliest memories of life in the South? Please keep in mind that are Southern brothers and sisters are on this board, as well as many in foreign countries. Thank you.

Here's the place for you to put the scenario together that would change the course and the outcome of a battle, or, the war itself. "If they had only done (.......), then the whole campaign would have been successful." Speculate, conjecture, and hypothesize to achieve the results that would have worked for your side, or defeated the other side.
