B: ca. 1832 in North Carolina (Norwegian father). Enlisted at Kenansville, Duplin county, N.C., 13 Feb 63 for 3 years. In Nov 63 company was transferred to 1st North Carolina Artillery Regiment as Co I (below).

B: 1838 in N.C, Salem (now Winston-Salem) Orig.name: Charles Fredrick Bahnson.
Son of George Fr.Bahnson, Bishop of Salem, N.C, born in Denmark. Enlisted as 1st Sgt. of Co. G, 2nd Bat'l No. Car. Inf. on Sept. 19, 1861. Unit surrendered on Feb. 8, 1862 after battle of Roanoke Island. Paroled and allowed to return home until exchanged. Exchanged and reported back to the 2nd Bat'l on Jan. 1, 1863. Was appointed Captain and Ass. Q.M.; sent home around Nov. 1864, reason unknown. Still at home when he heard of Lee's surrender. Paroled on April 28, 1865 at Greensboro, N.C .

Hospt.Stew`d - Henry T. BAHNSON

B: 1845 in N.C, Salem (now Winston-Salem) Orig.name: Henry Thedore Bahnson.
Son of George Fr.Bahnson, Bishop of Salem, N.C, born in Denmark. Mustered in the 2nd Bat'l on Jan. 1, 1863 as Hospital Steward. He was captured on July 5, 1863 at Gettysburg and confined to Point Lookout, Maryland Prison for 6 months. Exchanged on Dec. 24 at City Point, Virginia and returned to 2nd Bat'l. Transferred to Co. B, 1st Bat'l sharpshooters on Nov. 5, 1864. Captured at Sayler's Creek on April 6, 1865. Paroled at Farmville, Virginia between Arpil 11 and 21, 1865.

Organized at Danville, Virginia, in June, 1861. Surrendered Apr 65.
