Burnside Bridge

Burnside Bridge, where there was a lot of fighting towards the end of the Battle of Antietam. You are looking at the bridge from the Confederate positions, and on the other side of the bridge you can see some of the monuments to the Federal brigades that led the assault and took a lot of casualties.

Dunker Church

Antietam National Battlefield, outside of Sharpsburg, Maryland.
The Dunker Church, which wa sthere during the battle of Sept. 17, 1862 and suffered a lot of damage at the time. Earlier, I sent you a partial view of this church at night, during the annual Illumination Ceremony.
